Danny Rubin è noto soprattutto per il soggetto e la sceneggiatura originale del film GROUNDHOG DAY (letteralmente: Il Giorno della Marmotta , anche se il titolo italiano del film era: RICOMINCIO DA CAPO. Dopo questo cult movie , Rubin ha adattato per lo schermo due romanzi: nel 1993 HEAR NO EVIL (in italiano: Occhi per Sentire), interpretato da Marlee Matlin e Martin Sheen, e nel 1995 SFW ( So Fucking What dal romanzo omonimo di Andrew Wellman).
Dal 1995 si è dedicato soprattutto all’insegnamento presso l’universit… di SantaFe, nel New Mexico, dove è titolare di cattedra.
